Universal Studio Singapore Trip 2017 and 2019

Hi everyone! I was a little bit indecisive about writing a post solely on Universal Studio Singapore (USS). The reason? Well, I thought u guys will find it boring focusing on just one place instead of the whole Singapore~ Thanks to someone, I got the nudge and here we are! So.. let's explore the Universal Studio Singapore together!

Now now, before we start to explore USS, I'm pretty sure you guys have some questions like....
  1. Where can I get the USS tickets?
*Please check on their official website for any ongoing promotions such as Mastercard holders exclusive promotions and etc. Compare it and pick the best deal!

     2. What are the passes available?
  • Normal USS ticket, Universal Express and Universal Express Unlimited.
    3. What is the main difference between universal express and universal express unlimited?
  • Universal Express = get to skip queue only ONE TIME for each ride/attraction place
  • Unlimited = get to skip the queue with NO LIMITS for each ride/attraction place
I always recommend my friends to
  • Arrive there EARLYYYY in the morning! Take a picture with the USS GLOBE!
  • Go on weekdays. Less queue, more games!
  • Consider to buy fast pass (doesn’t matter which one) if you want to enjoy fully
  • Check out the time for the park mini events (love the opening broadway performance /turntable 💕)
  • Go to the Sci-Fi City (Transformer 3D ride) first after finish watching the broadway performance or you can just skip the performance if you are not a musical fan
  • Ride the roller coaster!!!! (My fav is the blue one..more extreme hehe )
  • Do not eat too full if you are about to ride some adrenaline rush rides.. later u vomit all over the place.
This is the map that I'm using as my guide. There are 7 parks to be discovered by you!

1st stop : Mel’s Diner (Optional)

- Watch the opening Broadway performance( nice song choices, cool dance moves and they are very interactive with the kids and adults! They make me wanna dance with them lol 😂)
- Skip the Hollywood and the Mel's Diner classic cars photo op first! You can always come back to these at the end of your trip.
Inside of the Mel's Diner, serving food and beverages

2nd stop : Sci-Fi City

- If you are an adrenaline seeker type or person, go for the roller coasters at once. Ride both of them, you are going to love it. (Waiting line without a pass and on weekend : approximately 90 minutes each)
- If you are an middle range adrenaline seeker or going with your family/kids, you can ride the Transformer 3D ride. ((Waiting line without a pass and on weekend : approximately 30-50 minutes)
- After the rides, you can take a picture with the Bumble Bee at the right hand side!

The most exciting part of USS! For me haha

The waiting line..

3rd stop : Ancient Egypt

- If you are still okay after riding the roller coasters, you have to ride The Revenge of the Mummy. It is not as extreme as the previous roller coasters but this one it involves sudden backwards motion ; a bad news for someone who suffers from motion sickness like me lol ((Waiting line without a pass and on weekend : approximately 30 minutes)
- For family friendly version, you can join the Treasure Hunter which basically u guys sitting on a mini train and hunting for the treasures!

I love weird posing.

4th stop : The Lost World (Open at 11 AM)

- You have to visit the Water World live show!!! No excuses! It is a show performance based on the film Water World with some exciting stunts, thrills and explosions of water and fire! (about 15-20 minutes and pro tip: do not sit at the front row unless you wanna get wet)
- You have to ride the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure as well!! Remember to bring your own raincoat or you can just buy for SGD 2 (if I'm not mistaken). Live in the era of the dinosaur while riding the raft! Spot the dinosaurs, live in the moment and experience the high to low dip into the water at the end of the ride! (Oh yea, best to take off your shoes and fold up your jeans/trousers because the water WILL get into the raft.) ((Waiting line without a pass and on weekend : approximately 60 minutes)
- There is a rock climbing activity too if you are interested. I skipped this activity as this is not my thing.
Try your best not to miss this live show!

5th stop : Far Far Away (MY FAVOURITE PARK)

- Now, this is a park where everyone (I mean all age group) can enjoy fully with or without kids! I'm a Shrek movie fan so imagine walking into a park with the Shrek's movie background song playing, seeing fairy godmother, seeing all those magical buildings like in the movies, Puss in the boots posters everywhere, the castle!! Oh god, take me back please haha
-Don't spend too much time taking pictures of the city first; instead head to the Shrek 4D Adventure first. First, they will show you the story and lastly the ride. Here, you can enjoy the 4D simulator ride with motion based effects. You just sit there in pitch black, wearing the 4D glasses and wait to be rocked on with the awesomeness!
- After that, spend some time at the gift shop and you will notice the Magic Potion Spin. Might be fun for the kids apart of The Dance for the Magic Spin, Donkey Live, and Puss in Boot's Giant Journey.
- If you are up for another roller coaster ride, you can check out the Enchanted Airways. I had to skip this because my friend were not up for it.

View from far far away...

Magic Potion Spin

A must take photo shot!

6th stop : Madagascar

- Catch the Madagascar Boogie dance performance show!
- Go for the Madagascar : A Crate Adventure! It is a fun kid-friendly water ride with some cute characters from the movie. I think I'm the only adult riding this ride during my visit last year. No regrets though haha
- I skipped King Julien's Party-Go-Round Adventure. It is some sort of a carousel ride, spinning in a big circle. A spinning ride for a motion sickness me? No thanks!

7th stop : New York

- For Sesame Street fans, you should go for the Sesame street spaghetti space chase! I know, the name is weird and quirky hahaha
- I would recommend you to go for Lights, Camera, Action! to see how they direct an action movie! It is rather interesting! Also, prepare your raincoat because you will get spilled by the water too if you are lucky!

The Spaghetti Chase ride

Worth to drop by!

Last stop

- After visiting all of the park, you can take your time to explore Hollywood section. Don't forget to take photos at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. (The star name on the road one.. like in USA)
- Take some pics at the Mel's Diner classic car section!
-  Revisit and take more pictures at the New York!
- Visit the gift shops!
- Visit the Casino (outside of the park) and try your luck! (pro money saving tip: they supply free drinks so quench your thirst and enjoy the game)

These classic cars are parked right outside Mel's Diner.
I was lucky!! Special celebration of the Sesame Street last year 2019!

Lost SGD 2 but oh well I had fun.
A large pizza for the both of us.Eyes were preying at us and yes we finished the pizza @New York City

Stumbled upon this little hidden mini village! Lots of creative photo taking spots!

50 years of celebration!
That is all for now! I hope this post helped you in any kind of ways! See you at my next post! Adios!
